The name says it all
The Smash is characterized by its sturdy whitewater demand without giving up the touring ambition: whitewater blades coupled with an adjustable lightweight shaft. Ideal for packrafting.
The blade design made of sealed fiberglass-composite laminate is:
- rugged (strong)
- stiff (powerful)
- light (agile)
- smooth (water-repellent)
The large, asymmetrical surface has been complemented by a core center rib for a flutter-free stroke. This results in optimal paddle control and a guarantee of solid catch on aerated water.
It can be disassembled into 4 parts for easy transport. The lockable, clutter-free connection in the middle offers to finely adjust both the length and the spring angle:
-
The up to 195 cm short, if necessary, low-turned setting blade angle supports a steep paddle position (close to the boat) and a better power transmission (short lever) for high frequency strokes in white water (strong currents).
- The up to 215 cm long setting with up to 90° turned blades helps with headwinds and endurance. On calm waters the flat paddle position and slower frequency is more relaxed.
- Any setting in between is like paddling with gears.
Conclusion
Durable and powerfull as appreciated by whitewater professionals, it is also an excellent choice for touring or for newcomers to packrafting with whitewater ambitions.
